Our Story

I fell in love with ethnic wear when I was a kid.

My mother would come dressed in these beautiful prints, and intricate embroideries on special occasions. Over the years our family would travel across India and she would make a point of visiting the local artisans and finding herself these treasures of handlooms.

Her wardrobe, and our household would be adorned with these prints and arts styles. Back then I didn’t even know what they were, what rich heritage they came from, what stories they held. The only story I heard was when my mother would wear these pieces, And I, silently, would listen to this wordless story.

And that’s how Nishabd was born.

So join me in my journey, as I visit some artisans across the country and bring you some pieces, some clothes, and some stories that don’t need words to tell. But be sure you’re listening.

Nishabd!
